MARILYN MANSON

Started in 1989 and continuing to this very day, Marilyn Manson (originally known as Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids) has shocked the world with stage antics and lyrics for years.

What I Love About Marilyn Manson

Obviously I love Marilyn Manson becase I love the music, even though a lot of their albums have a different sound it's never so different that it sounds bad. I especially love a lot of their older stuff because I feel like it has so much emotion and thought put into it because of the time it was made, ou know? One of the main reasons I love Mariyn Manson is because of the lyrical themes a lot of the older songs have, and how vocal Marilyn Manson himself is about it. He stands for self expression, instead of going with what everybody else says they want he wants you to think for yourself and not follow blindly to a religion or authority that doesn't give a crap about you. He doesn't say "F*ck your god" for no reason, he went to a christian school when he was younger and he tried to connect to tha religion but when he did he was put down for "doing it wrong", trying so hard to be included and then being shut down when you put in effort is SO MESSED UP!!! He doesn't say all this stuff about religion because he's a satanic freak (well he was a minister in the church of satan but that's different), he says all of this because people abuse their religion to put others down and use it to justify their hatred for anything different. I find Marilyn Manson really impressive and inspirational honestly, he stands for a lot of things I do and even with all of the stuff that's happening with him nowadays I still have respect and admiration for him. Marilyn Manson points out all that is screwed up in the world and he makes music to push limits, he's been doing this for a long time and with that times have changed and he doesn't do tons of things people would find shocking but in the 90s? Man ripping up that bible, cutting himself on stage, screaming his lyrics about how you need to fight back instead of cowering away and using words to try and make a kind of difference-- TALKING THINGS OUT DON'T ALWAYS HELP YOU IF YOU WANNA CHANGE THE WAY THINGS ARE YOU GOTTA FIGHT FOR IT!!!! But even when his lyrics aren't about the world and all of its problems, he writes about himself. Antichrist Superstar (before it was directly turned into the Triptych) was autobiographal in a way for him, songs like Minute of Decay and
